Biography
Dawn Kooyumjian is a Community Education Specialist and the Coordinator for the UC Master Gardener Program of Contra Costa County. She taught plant identification and drought tolerant garden design for the Department of Landscape Architecture at UC Berkeley. She holds a Masters of Landscape Architecture, and is an International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist.
Her approach to teaching is both holistic and dynamic. Her energy, enthusiasm and passion inspire students to explore and delve deeply and widely into the subject at hand.
She is committed to broadening the reach of the UC MGP to all members of the community, and especially interested in the role of UCCE in urban ecosystems.
Additionally, she is fascinated by the intersection of the visual and musical arts, actively exploring how these different disciplines influence and inspire each other.
